这是第一部关于1949年苏联秘密警察（NKVD）将爱沙尼亚人强行驱逐至西伯利亚的电影。短短几天几夜内，近2.1万人——其中大多数是妇女和儿童——在高度保密的行动中被从家中带走，押送至火车站，关进牲畜车厢，踏上数千公里的旅程，被送往一个遥远、贫瘠、寒冷又充满敌意的地方，在那里他们大多被当作廉价（甚至是无偿）的劳动力使用。影片采用象征主义手法展现事件，主要角色分别象征圣经中的耶稣、撒旦和犹大。这种设定使影片在艺术表现上具有高度风格化，但也因此显得不够真实，节奏非常缓慢，观感较为吃力。尽管整体制作尚可，表演有时却过于戏剧化。可惜的是，这更像是一部中等水平的艺术片，而非一部值得推荐的历史题材电影。——彼得泽尔撰写
